# DELETE /api/v2/workflow-statuses/{workflow_status}

Delete a workflow status

- MCP id: workflow-statuses.destroy
- Scope: api:destroy:workflows
- Permission: workflows::delete
- Needs the sprints feature on your organisation
- Rate cost: 1 unit, write bucket.
- Cache-Control: private, no-store

Permanently deletes a workflow status.

This resource is hard-delete: there is no restore action, no `force` parameter and no `trashed` parameter. There is no in-use refusal, and the delete reaches further: one call also deletes every work item sitting in this status (with its comments, subtasks, links and attachments) and every transition leading into or out of it. plnnrly itself behaves the same way. Move the affected work items to another status first: list them with GET `/api/v2/work-items?filter[workflow_status_id]={id}`.

## Parameters
- workflow_status (integer, path): The WorkflowStatus's numeric id.
- X-Request-Id (header, optional): A correlation id of your own. It is recorded in our logs next to the server's request id but never returned: the response header always carries the server's id. A value that does not match the pattern is discarded silently, never rejected.
- If-Match (header, optional): The ETag a write is conditional on. A stale validator is 412 precondition-failed.
